Chris Gaskell
Chris founded Cloud Union Studio in 2020 after a career as a professional bassist, during which he had opportunity to play on several continents and at prestigious venues such as Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall. He has facilitated hundreds of recordings at Cloud Union and other studios in NYC.
Founder, Head Producer
Mike Tierney is a Grammy award winning Brooklyn-based audio engineer. In 2026, he was awarded the Grammy for Best Engineered Album, Classical for the album Cerrone: Don't Look Down by Sandbox Percussion. His work has garnered seven Grammy nominations to date. Mike currently works from his mixing studio Fieldnotes Studio which is just down the road from us!

David Frazier
David studied at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music where he received a BFA & MFA in Jazz Studies (Performance). David has had the pleasure of touring all over the world. David has album Credits from great artists such as : Gabriel Garzon Montano, Arto Lindsay, Thief’s, People’s Champs, SZA, Mae.Sun, My Tree, Moses Sumney, BrassTracks, Takuya Kuroda, Nikara Warren Presents Black Wall Street, AMYRA, Puck.

S T A R R Busby (they/she/he/we) is a vocal coach and Black experimental artist who sings, acts, composes, and educates. They lead a musical project with a debut album coming in 2026 and are the front-person for People’s Champs, also releasing an EP in 2026. S T A R R teaches at Long Island University and through programs at Carnegie Hall, and has collaborated with artists including Gorillaz, Esperanza Spalding, X Ambassadors, Son Lux, Kimbra, Alice Smith, and Quelle Chris.

Lee is a musician and audio engineer based in New York’s Hudson Valley region. He has produced, mixed, and/or mastered dozens of records for independent artists in New York, Los Angeles, and from around the world. He has extensive experience performing, producing, and mixing across an enormously wide arrange of genres and styles.

Colin, a disciple of the Drummers Collective NYC, is a sought after drummer across many styles of music. He regularly performs live, records and teaches drums in NYC and abroad, and is active in the Broadway musical scene, having toured and performed in productions including "On Your Feet!", "Frozen", "Real Women Have Curves", "Once Upon a One More Time", and "CATS: The Jellicle Ball".

Xavier Sang is our in-house recording engineer with a background in post-production and a focus on tracking and session work. His approach centers on tone, clarity, and capturing strong performances in a smooth, artist-friendly workflow. Friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, Xavier is our newest team member and brings a thoughtful, collaborative energy to every session.
